Rafter - What is a rafter in a shed?

 

Rafters are used to support the roof. Rafters will vary in size and thickness depending upon the size of the structure. Rafters join together via an apex bracket / plate. Also referred to as 'end wall rafters' and 'intermediate rafters'.
