The Drought Angel Charity Auction - A Huge Success!
THE Shed Company’s National Conference saw their charity auction raising a whopping $35, 670 for The Drought Angels.
When THE Shed Company heard about this compassionate charity, founded by Tash Johnston and Nicki Blackwell, we instantly felt drawn to the ladies’ genuine and dedicated passion for helping farming families and rural communities who are affected by drought.
Tash and Nicki have called their charity, ‘The Drought Angels’ – an incredibly fitting name. The girls have been raising funds and awareness for farmers in need since 2014.
THE Shed Company’s National Conference was held at The Sofitel Hotel in Broadbeach. Franchisee owners from around Australia came together to share ideas for present and future endeavours within their industry.
Upon collecting feedback and comments about the event, the charity auction was a highlight for many! The auction took place at the end of the conference – a further testimony to Tash and Nicki who could rally enthusiasm from a room full of franchisee owners who had just sat through two full on days of information overload!
There were bidding wars (all in good jest) over items such as cricket bats, Bluescope and Colorbond products, marketing packages and more. The item that caused the most controversy was a bag of Allen’s raspberry lollies – selling for an astounding $1100!
Overall, THE Shed Company charity auction raised $35, 670 for The Drought Angels. An overwhelming result, exceeding all expectations and certainly spurring some tears of joy from the girls and attendees.
“It was the most amazing auction I've ever seen. What an amazing group of franchisees and suppliers. The Shed Company should be so proud to have such a wonderful kind and generous group of people associated with it. We are so grateful Thank You.” – Natasha Johnston
