The main difference between an American barn and an Australian barn is the roof profile, which changes how the internal clearance and floor space are distributed across the steel frame.
Roof Profile: A distinct stepped roof with a high central bay and lower sections on each side.
The tall centre section gives you exceptional vertical clearance in the middle bay. This allows you to install tall roller doors directly in the centre for high-clearance items. The extra middle height also makes this design the perfect setup if you want to add mezzanine floors for additional overhead storage.
Roof Profile: A clean, continuous roof line that slopes evenly from the centre out to the side walls.
This traditional style offers uniform headroom across the entire structure, meaning the ceiling height stays high right out to the edges. Without the stepped drops of an American design, you get consistent, clear-span floor space and wall height from side to side.
